Welcome to our new website. It has been an exciting process for us to design a totally new look to showcase Mary's Greeting Cards and Art Prints. Retailers can view and order directly from the Wholesale catalogue. Our Online Shop is still in the works but will be available soon. We hope you enjoy browsing the site. We titled our blog "Second Cup" to reflect how the second cup of java is often what gets the magic started. We also invite you to sign up for our Newsletter which will keep you up to date with the latest news.
Our greeting cards are a unique and varied collection of over 500 stylized and colourful designs - suitable for many special occasions and tastes. Each card is giclée printed on beautiful Arches 100% cotton watercolour paper. We use only the finest printing equipment and archival pigmented inks to ensure amazing colour and satisfying results. Finishing touches such as Swarovski crystals, glitter or dabs of gold acrylic are tastefully added where suitable. The inside of all cards is left blank. Many cards with captions are also available without the greetings. Arches paper is a perfect writing surface for that special sentiment. An eco friendly symbol is on the back of each card. You could say that our cards are good for the environment and good for the soul.
We have been giclée printing on our paper of choice - Arches 100 % cotton watercolour paper for well over a decade. The following is a description of this paper along with some of it’s interesting history. Arches is one of the oldest companies in the world. Located in Lorraine, France, they have been making this paper in the same mill since 1492 - using water from the original artesian well. The warm white tone of the paper is the colour created from the natural sediment in the water. It is made from virgin cotton linters - which is a by-product of processing cotton - the shorter fibres and lint left attached to the seeds after ginning are culled by crushing and boiling the pulp in an alkali solution. The separated fibres are then washed and formed into soft, blotterlike sheets called cotton linters. Because raw cotton is cellulous, it requires little treatment to process. It is chlorine and acid free, no optical whitening agents are used. It is natural (not animal) gelatin sized, and it is air dried. The mill is ISO 1401 certified. Lastly, it is highly durable and when properly cared for is capable of surviving “centuries” in remarkably handsome condition. Whether framed on a wall, sitting on a table, or stored as a keepsake, it is safe to say that one of our cards with that special message could touch someone for many years to come.
This is where Mary showcases both her creativity and her abilities as a Master Printer. She prints on her favourite Arches watercolour paper using only the finest pigmented inks to achieve outstanding archival quality. Prints will also be available on canvas.
