About The Artwork

'The Scenic Route' is an archival Giclée print of an abstract painting which was heavily influenced by the work of Cy Twombly.

The original was painted on Arches Rough Press watercolor paper. Layers of gestural mark-making were spontaneously added to the ungessoed surface using a variety of drawing tools including art crayons, graphite, charcoal and colored pencils. Acrylics were then added using a variety of techniques including smudging, scumbling with a dry brush and laying down some impasto with my loaded brush. Mark-making continued as the final stage to bring it all together.

Image size is 28x20 inch (71.12x50.8cm) Giclée print with 2 inch (5.08cm) border for framing on museum quality Epson Cold Press 340 gsm matte fine art paper. Signed, dated and numbered on the back of the print. Strictly limited to an edition of 5.
