To me, this heavily textured oil painting on Arches oil paper feels like a cityscape.
It grew out of movement, I layered earthy browns, layering swirls of luscious black and white oil sticks with an intuitive, spontaneous rhythm. Loose, expressive brushwork against quiet areas of scraped texture. It feels raw yet controlled, emotional yet grounded. It's about energy finding form, it's about motion, balance, and the raw beauty of imperfection.
