About The Artwork

By the Sea is a heavily textured acrylic painting on a 156 lb sheet of Arches hot press watercolour paper. It measures 36"w x 12"h painted right to the edges. This is suitable for a float frame showing the edges of the paper - or with a matte as you can see in my insitu images.

I often work intuitively and begin with random mark-making. This painting began this way as well many painting sessions followed. There are many layers of paint and some of my collage pieces have been embedded in the painting adding texture and visual interest.

I want the viewer to feel the energy and spontaneity I felt while painting this - and to enjoy the many small details as well as the whole.

This painting is signed on the back and will be securely packaged and shipped in a box to ensure safe delivery.
