"COUNTING THE DAYS" is an original mixed media artwork that began its life as an acrylic painting Arches fine art paper. The surface was worked intuitively, carving into layers and creating lots of expressive texture with palette knives and scraping tools. This technique lends the abstract subject matter an organic, tactile, almost landscape-like feel.

The painting on cotton paper is mounted to a cradled wood panel, with the edges of the paper visible, blending harmoniously with the panel. The earthy palette of vibrant greens and soft neutrals enhances the contemporary feel of this work.
