'Crème Brûlée' This is a highly textured 12" x 12" acrylic abstract painted on a 1.5" deep gallery wrapped canvas.
I often work intuitively and begin with random strokes and gestural mark-making. In this painting I enjoyed working with a rich, but simple palette of burnt sienna, ochre and warm white. I added and scraped away color revealing the weave of the canvas and some of my previous gestural marks. Then, working wet in wet I added some thick impasto strokes of warm white - carefully scumbling across the surface and mixing with the colors beneath. I was left with a variety of texture, depth and visual interest.

This painting, signed on the back, is ready to hang with wire attached.
