About The Artwork

'From Now On' Is a textured 20"w x 16"h abstract acrylic collage painted on a 1.5" deep gallery wrapped canvas.

I often work intuitively and begin with lots of random strokes and gestural mark-making.
This painting began this way as well - but these marks are now completely hidden below several layers of impasto acrylic as well as a selection of collage pieces. These collage additions have also been painted over leaving their shape clearly visible as an integral part of the composition.

Throughout my work I have added and scrubbed away layers revealing so much of the history - what lies beneath is visible everywhere.

I want the viewer to feel the energy and spontaneity I felt while painting this - and to enjoy the many small details as well as the whole.

This painting, signed on the back, is ready to hang with wire attached.
