About The Artwork

"The Depths" is a textured, monochrome abstract with a sculptural surface created with layers of acrylic and embedded collage. I built the surface slowly - adding, scraping, and burying collage pieces - until the canvas had a sculptural, weathered look. Up close, subtle ridges and collage outlines emerge from the black surface, revealing hints of what lies beneath - it's history. The result is a painting that feels both ancient and contemporary.

I hope to offer viewers a space for contemplation - to view the stillness, rawness, and the quiet stories embedded in the material.

A protective layer of cold wax has been added and buffed to a rich, inviting satin sheen.
The sides are left with the history of the artwork still visible.
It is signed on the back and has hanging hardware attached - ready to hang - or a floating frame of your choice could also be added.
A Letter of Authenticity is also included.
