About The Artwork

'School Days' is an acrylic painting with collage on a heavy 156lb sheet of Arches hot press cotton watercolour paper from France. It measures 20"w x 20"h with a 1" white border suitable for framing.

I often work intuitively and begin with random mark-making. This painting began this way as well, and many painting sessions followed. I worked with several layers of acrylic and a variety of collage pieces from my collection, including some with gold and silver accents. There's a lot of asemic scribbles - a reminder of a chalkboard in school - or notes, quick reminders jotted down. There's lots of texture adding a bit of intrigue and visual interest.

I want the viewer to feel the energy and spontaneity I felt while painting this - and to enjoy the many small details as well as the whole.

This painting is signed on the back and will be securely packaged and shipped in a box to ensure safe delivery.  It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
