About The Artwork

'Surf's Up' is a textured 24" x 18" acrylic abstract painting on a 1.5" deep cradled panel.
This painting took many twists and turns along the way.
I began adding collage from my collection to a heavy 156lb sheet of Arches cotton watercolour paper.
Asemic scribbles were then added as well as washes of acrylic colour. An impasto layer of warm grey acrylic then covered the surface - and I intuitively scraped it back to reveal the detail in the underlying layers. This was then mounted to a cradled wooden panel and followed by a thick impasto layer of creamy white acrylic which I added along the bottom of the painting to strengthen the composition and add interest

I want the viewer to feel the energy and spontaneity I felt while painting this - and to enjoy the many small details as well as the whole.

This painting is signed on the back and will be securely packaged and shipped in a box to ensure safe delivery.  It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
