About The Artwork

'Wash Day' is a textured 12" x 12" acrylic abstract painted on a 1.5" deep gallery wrapped canvas.

I often work intuitively and begin with random strokes and gestural mark-making. In this painting my initial marks are hidden between several layers of acrylic and collage as well as lots of random graffiti scribbles. This has created lots of heavy impasto textures. These textures are an integral part of this painting.

I want the viewer to feel the energy and spontaneity I felt while painting this - and to enjoy the many small details as well as the whole.

This painting, signed on the back, is ready to hang with wire attached.
